The first book in the trilogy will be published February 2027.

Michael Beale acquired UK & Commonwealth rights (excl. ANZ) from Text Publishing via Sarah Lutyens of Lutyens & Rubenstein.

In a world besieged by a soul-devouring fog, the murder of a god-like guardian ignites a war between nature and civilization that forces three outcasts to master the night, or be consumed by it. Gods of the Hollow Wild is a high-stakes, multi-POV epic that will appeal to readers of Steven Erikson, Robin Hobb and John Gwynne.

In the city of Gyre, Dio claws her way up from the slavery of the Underfoot to the Sanctum, a brutal academy where Weavers harvest magic from the Hollow Wild. But to rise in the academy, she must survive the cutthroat politics of her peers and the agony of the magic itself.

In the savage north, Isa is raised by the Forgotten – animal creatures of legend – wielding a living bone blade and a destiny she didn’t choose. And in the heart of the empire, a disgraced sorcerer uncovers a lie that has held the world together for centuries. As the fabric of their reality begins to unravel, their paths will collide in a war that threatens to consume gods and men alike.

Michael Beale, Editor at Tor UK, said:

Gods of the Hollow Wild blew me away with its imaginative scope, sprawling empires and vividly real characters. It’s an impressive undertaking by a writer with serious skill; this represents some of the best classic epic fantasy I’ve read in a long while.’

Mandy Brett, Senior Editor at Text Publishing, commented:

‘Michael Sala is a writer of sublime skill with the lavish imagination and sheer stamina to become one of the greats of epic fantasy. We are so excited to be bringing him to an international audience in partnership with Tor UK, whose track record in the genre is unparalleled.’

Michael Sala said:

‘I began writing this series for the sheer love of it, and that's what kept me going over the last few years. A three-book offer from Tor UK is without a doubt the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I am utterly blown away, and still wonder if this is all some elaborate dream.’
