Tor Bramble to publish Dark Romance, Dead Lift, and two standalone sequels in a global publishing strategy with Bramble US.
Tor Bramble has signed a three-book deal with Clio Evans, a bestselling indie author whose videos have received a quarter of a million likes on TikTok. Ajebowale Roberts acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Chris Scheina at St Martin’s Press on behalf of Stevie Finegan at the Zeno Agency Ltd.

Dead Lift, which will be published in January 2027, is a comedic dark romance that is perfect for fans of Butcher & Blackbird and Lights Out.
Dead Lift, which will be published in January 2027, is a comedic dark romance that is perfect for fans of Butcher & Blackbird and Lights Out.
Forensic scientist Shelby has a simple plan. Get justice for her sister, kill the men who murdered her sister, and (hopefully) get away with it. But when a hot himbo with a man-bun catches Shelby in the act – her simple plan becomes a lot more complicated.
Roberts says ‘Clio is a master of all things romance and spice and is a chameleon writer who can successfully conquer any genre. When I first read the sample for Dead Lift I was so excited by it and I’m even more thrilled now to be publishing Dead Lift alongside Bramble US. Dark romance is trending more and more and Dead Lift is the perfect next obsession for lovers of the genre, with enthusiastic consent, queer-normative characters, laugh out loud moments and unforgettable spice’
Evans says ‘I am SO excited to be working with my dream team to bring Dead Lift to the UK and Commonwealth. This dark romcom is full of heart and heat, and I can’t wait for readers to fall in love with Brad and Shelby. Thank you so much to my agent Stevie, and thank you to Aje and everyone at Bramble for believing in ‘love at first stab’!’
Finegan says: ‘I have been a fan of Clio's self-pubbed, steamy romances since the moment they crossed my TikTok algorithm. She's a powerhouse, creating incredible love stories that readers can't help but fall for. I'm delighted to have worked on this dark romcom with her and I can't wait for fans to meet our out-of-her-depth serial killer and the himbo that just wants to love her!’
Clio Evans writes contemporary and monster romance books that are kink-positive, queer-normative, steamy, and full of heart. They’re from Austin, but now live their best life drinking lattes and writing happy endings in Chicago. When Clio isn’t writing, she’s either painting, swing-dancing with her partner, or discovering new coffee shops in the city.
