It is the first book of the Shadowborn Duet, following fan-favourite Mische and her journey into the dark, dangerous, and sumptuous kingdom of the House of Shadow.

Described as ‘The Hunger Games with vampires’, the Crowns of Nyaxia series is a dark fantasy romance full of heart-wrenching romantic twists, dark magic, and bloodthirsty intrigue, perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Gillian Green says: ‘We’re delighted to be partnering with Carissa and Tor US for more books in her heart wrenching romantasy series and thrilled that the first book in our new deal will be a brand-new duology in her brilliant Crowns of Nyaxia series.’

Carissa Broadbent says: ‘I am so thrilled to continue this journey with Gillian and Tor UK/Bramble! It's such an honour to have the partnership of such an incredible team as the world of Nyaxia expands. There are so many new and exciting things ahead!’

About the author
Carissa Broadbent has been concerning teachers and parents with mercilessly grim tales since she was roughly nine years old. Since then, her stories have gotten (slightly) less depressing and (hopefully a lot?) more readable. Today, she writes novels that blend epic fantasy plots with a heaping dose of romance. She lives with her husband, her son, one very poorly-behaved rabbit, and one perpetually sceptical cat in Rhode Island.
