Seek the Traitor’s Son is a sweeping adventure set in Earth’s dystopian future, featuring a world at war, a prophecy that will shake the stars and a love that will determine the fates of them all.

Elegy Ahn is a soldier defending her small country against a powerful enemy: the Talusar, who worship a Fever that brings death to everyone it touches . . . except those it resurrects, forever changed. Rava Vidar is a Talusar general with a reputation for cruelty and triumph in equal measure. And when Elegy and Rava first meet, it’s to hear a prophecy that could apply to either of them.

It declares that either could carry their people to victory. But they won’t know who will triumph – not until it’s too late to change anything. And at the center of both of their fates is a man. A man who, Elegy is told, will bring her death. A man she’ll fall in love with.

Olivie Blake, bestselling author of The Atlas Six, Gifted and Talented and many others said: ‘The pace is gripping, the scale of storytelling is sweeping, and the romance between the two leads is an agonizing crescendo.’

Veronica Roth says ‘I’m so thrilled to work with Bella Pagan and her team at Tor UK on the release of Seek the Traitor’s Son. It’s a story that combines everything I love – dystopia and fantasy, romance and destiny – into one. I’ve been writing it since 2019, and I can’t wait to finally share it with readers!‘

Bella Pagan, Tor Publisher, enthuses: ‘I’ve completely fallen for this breathtaking page-turner.
Veronica’s incredible book perfectly balances high-stakes action with powerful personal relationships leading to the most unforgettable reading experience. I can’t wait to share it far and wide.’

Tor UK will publish Seek the Traitor’s Son alongside Tor Books in the US and Pan Macmillan in Australia in summer 2026.
