Julia Donaldson, Jessie Burton and Peter James honoured at the Specsavers Bestseller Awards

Julia Donaldson, Jessie Burton and Peter James were amongst many authors honoured at the 2017 Specsavers Bestseller Awards on Thursday 25th January 2018.

The 2017 Specsavers Bestseller Awards, powered by Nielsen Book, celebrated the UK’s bestselling books on Thursday 25th January 2018. Pan Macmillan authors Julia Donaldson, Jessie Burton and Peter James were amongst many authors that were honoured at the event.

Books selling over 250,000 copies, in print and e-book sales, are awarded Silver status, those selling over 500,000 are awarded Gold status, and those selling over 1,000,000 books are awarded Platinum Status.

Peter James received the first Honorary Platinum Award of the night for selling over 5 million books.

Julia Donaldson received two Gold Bestseller Awards for her picture books Tales from the Acorn Wood: Fox's Socks with Axel Scheffler and What the Ladybird Heard with Lydia Monks.

Jessie Burton also received two Gold Bestseller Awards for her debut novel The Miniaturist and The Muse.

Dame Mary Perkins, co-founder of Specsavers, said: “The Specsavers Bestseller Awards, powered by Nielsen, is a wonderful event celebrating the best of the best. It is hugely inspirational to see so many accomplished authors together under one roof, and to be able to champion their achievements. Each and every one of this year’s winners is truly deserving of their accolade.
