Georgina Howell dies aged 73

Georgina Howell, author, fashion journalist and former Vogue features editor, has passed away aged 73.

Everyone at Pan Macmillan is deeply saddened by the death of Georgina Howell.

Over her lifetime, Georgina carved an exemplary career as a writer, beginning in magazine journalism at the age of just seventeen. She was Fashion Editor of the Observer, Features Editor of Vogue, Deputy Editor of Tatler and a principal feature writer for the Sunday Times. Georgina leaves an impressive legacy of work, especially her acclaimed biography of Gertrude Bell, Queen of the Desert, first published by Macmillan in 2006 and shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize.  We are very proud to have been her publisher.
