Autumn 2021 Highlights

Once again for Frankfurt 2021 the Pan Macmillan adult rights team are conducting a virtual fair. Conscious of “Zoom fatigue” and as we all come to terms with the disappointment of yet another year without travel or face-to-face contact, we wanted to find a way to shout about our most exciting titles, without you having to leave the comfort of your “home office”. With that in mind, we have asked authors and editors to record short videos about our Autumn highlights, which include a range of fiction and non-fiction from across the imprints.

From Macmillan we have Braintenance by Julia Ravey (January 2023; World Rights), a spritely introduction - including easy-to-follow exercises - to how we can use the principles of neuroscience to change our habits and achieve our goals.

From Bluebird comes Wild Card: Telling Our Stories Through Tarot by Fiona Lensvelt & Jennifer Cownie (April 2022; World Rights), a beautiful and comprehensive guide to all that the ancient art of tarot has to offer the modern reader.

From Picador, we have Becky by Sarah May (June 2022; World Rights), a brilliantly fun and surprisingly moving retelling of Vanity Fair that takes in the glamourous highs and grimy lows of the tabloid industry in 90s London.

From non-fiction at Picador, we have Fans (March 2022; World Rights), the engrossing follow-up to science journalist Michael Bond’s debut Wayfinding. Fans takes the reader on a journey that encompasses Richard III, manga and the Beatles to understand the psychology of fandom and what it explains about the human condition.

From Lin Anderson, the author of the acclaimed Rhona MacLeod series of novels, Macmillan is excited to be publishing her first standalone crime thriller, The Party House (August 2022; World Rights), a twisting tale set in the Scottish Highlands.

And from Tor, we have a brand new trilogy from Genevieve Cogman, the acclaimed author of The Invisible Library series. The first installment Scarlet (November 2022; World Rights), is a fiendishly gripping and fast-paced retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel, set in revolutionary France, where the aristocrats are vampires.

Please get in touch if you would like to hear more about any of these titles. We would love to hear from you.
